Terms and Conditions

 

  1. Al Maha Prepaid E-Rial Fuel Card and Formats

The "Al Maha e-Rial Fuel Card" Programme is a Prepaid Fuel Cards Programme designed to be used to purchase fuel from participating Al Maha Service Stations in the Sultanate of Oman. The Programme’s Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as "T&C's") given below govern the participation of its users.   Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Co. SAOG reserves the right to amend these T&C's at any time, at its sole discretion, and without prior notice. Cardholder acceptance of these amendments shall be assumed. 

The Prepaid Fuel Card is available in two formats:

Format 1: As a physical plastic card which can be purchased from Al Maha Stations, topped up and used to purchase fuels from Al Maha stations,

Format 2: As a virtual card, downloaded through the Al Maha App from PlayStore, App Store or Huawei Store.

All references to "Al Maha" in this context relate to "Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company SAOG," which is registered under the commercial registration number 1613707 and has its registered office in Ghala, Muscat, with address at P.O. Box 57, Mina Al Fahal, Postal Code 116, Sultanate of Oman.

The Al Maha Prepaid Fuel Card and its related features, which are accessible via the mobile application, such as the display of transaction records, are referred to as "online services."

  1. Applying for and activating the Prepaid Card

The virtual card can be activated by

  1. Giving the cardholders mobile number to the filler at the time of first use of the card
  2. Entering your information in the App during registration.

 

The individual who has their mobile number registered with Al Maha, or in the event that no mobile number is recorded, that individual holding the physical Al Maha Fuel Card or App with mobile number, will be considered the "Cardholder."

 

  1. Loading the Prepaid Card

Virtual cards can be loaded online using the Bank payment gateway facility from within the App.  Physical cards can be loaded by paying the required amount to the filler at Al Maha Stations.

 

  1. Using the Prepaid Card 

Prior to the filling of fuel at the Al Maha stations, please inform the filler that you wish to use either Virtual or Physical E-Rial card and conduct the transaction accordingly.  You should request for a receipt for the transaction showing you volume and balance credit available.

 

  1. Authorising Transactions

Transactions should be authorised expressly by yourself only and your details should not be shared at any time with third parties, and Al Maha will remain indemnified against all misuse of the physical or virtual cards by unauthorised parties.

 

  1. Cancellation and expiry of the Prepaid Card

The card is valid for 4 years from the date of first registration. You may cancel at any time by using the card fully and inform our customer service at 80018888 or deleting the App. If there is a balance the card cannot be cancelled or the balance has to be transferred to a new card account.

 

  1. Keeping the Prepaid Card secure

The card, both physical and virtual should be treated like cash and extreme care should be taken to keep it secure.  Pins/ OTP etc should not be shared with any other persons.  You are solely responsible for any misuse of your card.

 

  1. Lost and stolen Prepaid Card and unauthorised or incorrectly executed payments

 

If an Al Maha Fuel Card is damaged or stolen, the cardholder must contact the Al Maha Call Centre Team at +968 80018888. Al Maha will accept no responsibility for loss of stolen cards and incorrectly executed payments on the App. Please familiarise yourself with the Card and App usage.   The Cardholder is liable for all unauthorised transactions except where our actions or omissions have directly caused the unauthorised transaction to occur.

 

 

  1. Refunds

In case cancellation of a card is requested, the cardholder may request a refund of the funds by sending an e-mail to fuel_cards@almaha.com.om cancelling and requesting a refund. 

The amount shown as balance on the Al Maha Fuel Card account will be deemed to be its true worth. Any other value will not be taken into consideration.

All refunds will be returned to the Cardholder’s bank account or a new Al Maha Prepaid Fuel Card. We reserve the right to see proof of the ownership of the bank account before transferring the funds to it.

 

  1. Transfer to a new prepaid card

Due to technical reasons or otherwise, we may transfer the unused balance in a Card to a new account and prepaid card at any time,  with prior notice.  Al Maha Fuel Card refunds are not available, in such situations, another Fuel Card may be used to receive the balance which was available on the original Fuel Card.

  1. Our liability

 

  • We will not be liable for any loss arising from:
    • any cause which results from abnormal or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, consequences of which would have been unavoidable despite all our efforts to the contrary;
    • our compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
    • our suspending, restricting or cancelling a Prepaid Card; or
    • loss or corruption of data unless caused by our wilful default.

 

  • At times, the ability to use the Prepaid Card may be interrupted, e.g. when we carry out maintenance. If this happens, it may not be possible to:
    • load the Prepaid Card;
    • use the Prepaid Card to make a payment; or
    • obtain information about the funds available in the Card Account and/or about recent Prepaid Card transactions.

 

  • We will also not be liable for:
    • business interruption, loss of revenue, goodwill, opportunity or anticipated savings;
    • any indirect or consequential loss arising from the total or partial use or inability to use a Prepaid Card or App.
    • any losses and damages caused by fraud or illegal activity by the Cardholder or unauthorised persons using a Passcode/Access Code/ OTP or knowledge obtained from the Cardholder.

 

  1. Changes to this agreement

Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company SAOG reserves the right to amend these T&C's at any time, at its sole discretion, and without prior notice due to the nature of this business. Cardholder acceptance of these amendments shall be assumed.

 

  1. Personal Data

We will use any personal information collected in the course of providing our services under this agreement, in accordance with the relevant laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Our Privacy Policy is set out on our Website; it includes details of the personal information that we collect, how it will be used, and who we pass it to.

 

  1. Disputes

If the Cardholder has any disputes about purchases made using the Prepaid Card, he/she should settle the dispute on the spot as far as possible.  Once a Prepaid Card is used to make a purchase, we cannot stop, recall or reverse the transaction.

 

  1. Communication

The cardholder agrees to receive SMS, Calls or email in relation to communication regarding the use of Prepaid Card/ App.  The Cardholder can communicate with Al Maha through the Customer Service number 80018888 or email giving card details and request to fuel_cards@almaha.com.om

 

  1. Complaints

The Cardholder can communicate with Al Maha through the Customer Service number 80018888 or email giving card details and request to fuel_cards@almaha.com.om

 

  1. Assignment

The Cardholder may not assign, mortgage, sub-contract or otherwise transfer his/her rights and obligations as a Cardholder under this agreement.

 

  1. Governing law

The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Sultanate of Oman regarding this agreement, and any issues and disputes arising from it.
